Ayvalık and Cunda

The North Aegean coast, the island of Cunda, and which airport actually makes sense for the region.

ARVIPTRANSFER

Ayvalık lies on the North Aegean coast, well beyond the resorts most visitors associate with the region. Its old town is a dense grid of stone houses and former olive-oil factories, and the island of Cunda sits just offshore, connected by a causeway.

Cunda

A short drive from the centre of Ayvalık, Cunda is known for its waterfront restaurants and cobbled back streets. It is small enough to explore on foot once you are there, which makes the drive over the more relevant question.

Sarımsaklı and Altınova

The beaches south of Ayvalık, and where most of the hotel capacity in the area actually sits. If your booking says Ayvalık but your hotel is at Sarımsaklı, tell us — it changes the route.

Which airport

This is the decision that catches people out. İzmir Adnan Menderes has far more flights, but it is a long drive. Edremit Koca Seyit is much closer to Ayvalık with a thinner schedule. We run transfers from both, so it is worth comparing the flight price against the transfer distance before you book the flight.

Why we cover this region properly

We have an office in Ayvalık, which is not true of most operators working out of İzmir. If you are heading to the North Aegean, ask us directly rather than assuming the route is too far.
