What Happens If Your Flight Is Delayed

Delays are the most common thing that goes wrong on an airport transfer. Here is how flight tracking works and why the fare does not change.

ARVIPTRANSFER

Of everything that can disrupt an airport transfer, a delayed flight is by far the most common. It is also the point at which the difference between operators becomes obvious.

Why the booking time is not the important one

When you book you give an expected landing time, but that time is a forecast. What matters is the actual one. This is why we ask for your flight number: it lets us follow the aircraft rather than the schedule, and reposition the driver against the real landing time.

Waiting is not charged

Some operators start a meter once the booked time passes, so a two-hour delay turns into a bill you did not expect. We do not do this. However late you land, your driver waits at the arrivals exit and the fare stays exactly as agreed.

What to do if you are diverted

Flight tracking covers delays, but a diversion to another airport is a different matter and we cannot see your intentions from the flight data alone. Send us a message as soon as you have signal. In most cases we can arrange something from the new airport.

Give us the flight number

It is the single most useful thing you can put in a booking. Without it we are working from a time you typed in; with it we are working from the aircraft.
